Despite a slumping minivan market, Honda has introduced a restyled Odyssey for 2008. Exterior tweaks to the new Odyssey include a bolder six-sided grill and a revised front bumper. New technology like Bluetooth with HandsFreeLink and an MP3/auxiliary input jack, to exterior updates like redesigned front and rear styling. It also comes with the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice recognition and rearview camera, and the available Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System.
The Odyssey will be available with two engine variants, both V6s displacing 3.5L. Available on LX and EX models is a SOHC VTEC producing 244 horsepower at 5750 rpm and 240 lb-ft. of torque at 5000 rpm and is rated at 16/23 mpg city/highway. The Odyssey EX-L and Touring models use a SOHC i-VTE featuring cylinder deactivation — which Honda calls VCM– good for 241 horsepower at 5700 rpm and 242 lb-ft. of torque at 4900 rpm and returns 17/25 mpg city/highway.
